Steampunk Karakuri Tea Serverby ~Forfaxia

I was issued a challenge by Vespertine Nova Lark to make a steampunk Japanese design for her. I was inspired by old Japanese karakuri robots to make this tea server design- based on the overdone clockwork doll costume trope.

I had the idea for there to be a valve on the karakuri's stomach to dispense the tea, but I wanted this to be a straightforward build for Vespertine.

I'd say that it's more Chinese than Japanese, but it is cool.

I do admit, the silhouette looks more Chinese, but that's because I put a hoopskirt underneath the kimono- but that was a visual cue from the original karakuri robots.
