Dragon frustration pot

Description

Our first assignment in pottery was to make a pinch pot- the only requirement being that it was 12 inches tall. My creative juices refused to work on such an edict so I handed in a round, 5 incher. My teacher said : Now now Jen, I know your work and work process, you can do better than this titchy piece of work. Red-faced, I returned to my desk to work on this 15 inch beauty to reflect my current angst... with my teacher giggling with every raw inch it grew.

The three heads signify a different emotion: Happiness, sadness, and anger. And no, I didn't know the glaze would turn out looking rather terdish. Either way, my first pottery display.
Done with high fire lustre gold, pewter, old bronze, and copper, with an underglaze of dark shadow.

That looks really good. o.o As someone who hates working with clay, I can assure you that you have out-clayed most people I know, especially me.

I had a project like that once. My teacher wanted me to 'be more painterly', and I painted one of the best pictures I've ever done just because I hated her so much. And she loved it. Funny how that works, eh?
